This may be true but... I had assumed that the hooks were associated
with actions on the branch where what you are suggesting is that the
hooks are associated with actions by the command line. In this case --
centralized master branch being updated from people's local private
branches what is needed is an email when the central master branch is
written. OK so this is very Subversion like and maybe I am still
thinking of this in too Subversion-like a way.
In any event what I need is whatever bears a verisimilitude to the email
being sent due to a write on the centralized master branch. The problem
with the hookless is that it is time and poll based rather than event
based.
