[RFC] A bit of lovin for tags

Well, we already have all the working out of merge logic and the Right
Thing for each situation; it's encapsulated in file [re]naming.  It's
just the other way around; instead of dealing with changes in a
variable name pointing to a constant entity, we have a constant name
pointing to a changing variable entity{0}.



{0} That is, until we talk about 'renaming tags'   8-}
