Is it possible to wait() for a thread (say no more than 1s), and then
fail/complain/log/warn/get on with your life ?
Also, could we change the structure so that we can say, toggle a mutex
so the child knows to stop what it is doing? I believe we use something
like that for the sftp server.
I really like the idea, and think it is worthwhile.
