That's the expected behavior, so I'm glad you're up and running again.

That's an interesting idea. I'm not 100% sure on the inner-workings of
that part yet, but I think the best time invested is in actually
removing the cache completely, and default making performance good
enough.
If that gets delayed too much, we'll definitely go back and make caching better.
