One semi-unrelated idea was something discussed at the sprint, which
we where thinking of getting setup with Guillermo, is a cron job on a
server pulling in bzr.dev and all known plugins, and running the test
suite against them, to know about breakage/deprecations earlier in the
release cycle.
This can either be something people actively go look at, or maybe a
daily email to the list with errors encountered. I don't know if that
will get too annoying.
As for packaging, I think it would be easier to have one package per
plugin, and have one meta-package that installs all, or a good
selection of them.
I'd be happy to help out with some of this work, although it may be
hard to keep up with monthly releases.
