Thanks, that's what I've done now. This is where I started looking, but
I didn't know how to get the relevant bits to call report_bug() with.

It does, but I factored out the exception printed code, and used that
instead. I also changed existing code to use the now function, so that
-Derror stops telling people to report every exception to launchpad.
