Well, I need a lot more detail to say what it means for you. On a
technical level, update does a merge, and it means that trying to
perform the merge led to trying to place non-existent files under
version control. So it's a bug, but I don't know the cause yet.
There are some bugfixes in this area for Bazaar 1.4, so if you don't
have Bazaar 1.4rc1 or later, could you try it with that?
If that doesn't solve it, can you provide steps to reproduce this? Is
it a public project?
