I support removing the default.

I think its usability could be greatly improved by showing what is
being requested:

  requesting merge of http://toehuntaohu/
  into http://tahuntaohnuth/
  by pqm at oaseuthoaue

because the configuration is rather hidden, and the result of your
request may take some time.

As a somewhat larger change, it would be nice for it to run a message
editor like commit, showing in the information section the outstanding
revisions.  Then Ian could easily copy and paste the one he wants.
