installing gentoo bazaar overlay

Hi,

In order to start experimenting with bzr-svn, I'd like to install the
overlay described at https://launchpad.net/bzr-gentoo-overlay/

However, this references http://bzr.malept.com/bazaar-overlay/ -- which
appears to be empty. I've therefore created a bzr branch from 'trunk'
and used this as an overlay, then emerged bzr. bzrtools, subversion and
bzr-svn.

I get this:

$ bzr branch svn+ssh://www.xmlv.com/usr/local/svn/nb nb
bzr-svn is not up to date with installed bzr version 1.2.0.
There should be a newer version of bzr-svn available.

... and the checkout of a tiny repo is taking a while (over 20 mins on a
tiny repo so far).

This is what I have installed:

 # emerge -pv bzr bzrtools subversion bzr-svn

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] dev-util/bzr-1.2 USE="bash-completion emacs -curl -doc
-test" 0 kB [1]
[ebuild R ] dev-util/subversion-1.4.6 USE="bash-completion berkdb
emacs nls perl python ruby -apache2 -debug -doc -extras -java -nowebdav
-svnserve -vim-syntax" 0 kB [1]
[ebuild R ] dev-util/bzrtools-1.2.0 0 kB [1]
[ebuild R ] dev-util/bzr-svn-0.4.7 0 kB [1]

Total: 4 packages (4 reinstalls), Size of downloads: 0 kB
Portage tree and overlays:
 [0] /usr/portage
 [1] /usr/local/portage/bzr-gentoo-overlay/trunk

Does the (understandable) familiarity of bzr developers with
ubuntu/debian mean that gentoo support is less up-to-date? Have I missed
something critical here?

Really excellent piece of kit, this, btw -- thanks to all responsible :-)

-- Thomas.
