line endings

It's a very long standing TODO since December 2005.
I can say you for sure when it finally will be implemented.

I personally use LF-only line-endings in my cross-platform development.
But in fact my favorite editor (FTE) does not mangle line-endings,
but I know that Visual Studio often force CRLF.
