As a user, it always feels a little quirky that they're type-separated
like that rather than lexical/depth/breadth ordered; I see a big diff
for an added file, then various changes elsewhere in the tree, then a
change to another file right there in the same dir as that first file.
I don't have any particularly strong inclination against it, though
