RFC: messages and ending period(.) is a problem

There is small detail that I hope to be reconsidered. A typical case:

    modified build.options
    Committed revision 13.

Under X or with gpm(1) mouse server on in text mode, you can copy
paste words from the previous output. Unfortunately the ending dot(.)
is always under way when used for something else like writing log
messages, using for diff commands. Likewise for outputs that
display filenames or path information

Could you remove it at least from all outputs

- where dot ends REVISION NUMBER
- where dot ends PATH or FILENAME

Small, but important detail in the long run for better usability
