Can I suggest one extra significant digit on the time? Then you'd have

 committing:  1 MB written in 1.6 seconds (640 KB/s)

Which looks a bit better; also it'll look better for operations < 1.0 s
and especially < 0.5 s - there's nothing worse than:

 ... written in 0 seconds...
