Here's an updated version:

 * remove _benchmarkTime from the test result - this is only valid
while collecting the results of a particular test, so shouldn't be
stored on the result.

 * doc

 * make some methods of our ExtendedTestResult private, and make it
clearer which ones are part of the normal interface

 * update tests of benchmark handling
