Yes, I initially misunderstood it (force the e-mail to contain only
ascii and don't bother with encodings). I've added an unicode
committer-id to one test, that should ensure it fails with ascii
StringIO.

It's Slovak and "Lukáš" sounds probably something like "Lucaash". :)
