Bundle Buggy responsiveness

Hi all,

Some of you will have noticed Bundle Buggy is sometimes very responsive,
sometimes quite slow, and there's even occasional errors.

I'm aware of the problem, and I believe it's due to a recent change in
mail handling. That is, mail is now handled by a script that opens up
the (sqlite) database and updates it. Formerly, mail was handled by a
very hacky http-as-ipc approach.

It seems like the memory overhead of this approach is punishing-- when
new mail arrives, the Bundle Buggy web process is shoved out of memory.
And this means it has to be swapped back in after new mail.

I don't think I'll have time to address this problem before I leave.
Sorry about this.

Aaron
