apt-cache search pyrex
reveals the name of the package as:
python-pyrex - compile native-code modules for python from python-like syntax
Just in case the name is slightly different on your machine. (A lot of python
packages have been going through some naming differences between platforms,
like py-foo, python-foo, python2.4-foo, etc.)
This isn't a strict dependency. If you don't have Pyrex, everything will still
work, (though slightly slower in places). So probably we need to update the
'install' code, so that if you don't have Pyrex, and are installing from
bzr.dev, we will warn but continue to work.
Released packages (0.18rc1, etc) should all include the .c files.
