Are svn properties in bzr-svn important?

The bzr:revision-id-v3:trunk and bzr:merge properties that bzr-svn creates
are getting pretty large, as you can see here:
https://www.drproject.org/DrProject/changeset/3220

Are these properties vital to any of bzr-svn's functionality?  Seeing that
huge digest with each changeset is getting annoying, so I'd like to delete
them, but I want to make sure it won't mess up bzr-svn at all.  What are the
properties used for?
