progress bars for commit a bit noisy in non-interactive mode

We have a bunch of stuff that runs nightly builds out of
cron.  It does several bzr branch calls to populate various
trees on the buildhosts (these are thrown away at the end
for pedantic reasons, so it's done all over the next night).
The build logs have been full of lines and lines of pointless dots
until we started calling with "--quiet"...   So I'm agreeing that
progress bars in non-interactive mode are less than ideal.
