Thanks for your patch.  In order for us to merge it, it needs tests to
ensure that it does what's expected and doesn't regress.  You can find

I'd especially want to see what happens when you create a checkout into
a directory that already contains some of the files.  For example, say
you have a versioned file "foo", and a directory "bar" with another file
"foo" in it.  If you checkout into "bar", does it rename "foo" out of
the way?  Does it throw an exception?
