Hi all,

We still haven't added support for recording cherrypicks or selected
files from a merge.  It's a shame, since knit merge ought to support
cherrypicking quite well.

At minimum, we need a better error.

Maybe we should allow people to force a commit in this situation, which
would ignore the pending merges.

And of course, actually adding such support would be ideal.
