Question about capturing versions

Hi;

I'm considering trying Bazaar for an application here at work where one
of the requirements is the ability to 'capture' the state of the
repository in 'release versions' from time to time. Is there an way to
do this so that development can continue but distributions can be easily
recovered that have known functionality?
