dirstate code changes to match the new design

I've got most of dirstate running with the new logic. Generally it feels
quite a bit cleaner, but its not complete enough to profile yet. I've
committed my current changes in case anyone is brave enough to help
finish it off. I was working on set_parent_trees, but you can really
pick any test matching 'dirstate' that is failing and run tests to
advance it. I'd say theres about 8 hours left to go on getting this back
to where it was friday.
