I think it may not make sense to continue.  Martin is working on a new
inventory format, which improves speed by dividing things by subtree.
Because it's a different data structure, we expect it will improve
performance more than a faster format would.

I'm pretty sure the working inventory of WorkingTree3 is v5.  v6 is used
for the basis inventory, and that's because I expected we'd be switching
to knit2 quickly, and it's more efficient to retrieve a basis from a
knit2 in v6 format.

Short answer: only one format needed.
