Comment:
This seems like a decent first draft. I would rather see tags be 
versioned, but this at least lets us fill in the 'has tags' checkbox.

Conditional because I do require that you either use tags.update() or 
tags.setdefault() so that existing tags aren't destroyed. (update would 
overwrite local values, but at least you wouldn't lose tags that exist 
locally but not remotely).
