Well you could have been meaning running bzr from source without
installing first. But I didn't see how that would affect pycurl support.

It seems after upgrading to Edgy, I don't have pycurl installed either,
so we do indeed have a few devs running the +urllib implementation.

If someone had the time, it would be nice to see a performance
comparison between the current pycurl and urllib implementations versus
the ones of generations past. I probably could dig out my test suite.

If urllib is >= pycurl I would be happy to switch it to the default, and
maybe even eventually deprecate pycurl. (I think it would be prudent to
leave it as an alternative, but more pure python is better IMO.)
