Yeah, I hadn't realised that wasn't a good idea when I was sending
those two patches...

Completely refusing merge requests with more than one patch or considering 
all patches to be part of the same merge request would make more sense than 
taking the first patch imho. That's all a corner case though, I 
agree I shouldn't be sending weird merge requests in the first place :-)
