Generally we keep the discussion on list. Especially when discussing
patches. If only because it keeps everyone in the loop as to what is
going on, in case any of us forget to respond in a timely fashion.

It looks good to me. I just need someone else to look it over and give
it a +1. If we don't get any responses by the end of the week, ping it,
and I might merge it anyway, since this patch has been simmering for a
long time, and I think it is well cooked.
