[RFC] Clean up progress bars during fetch

I like that as well.

My second choice would be

> Bar inbetween:
> \ 1/6 Finding involved files [======                        ] 1151/8236

but it's a pretty far second; it suggests more that the 1151/8236 is
directly related to the bar.


While we're in here, what about the phase numbering?  I vaguely recall
hearing at one point that our X/Y was listing Y as the total number of
phases, but X as a zero-based count of where we are (so at the "End",
it would be "5/6" or the like), which is somewhat user-tweaking.
