John,
we didn't start pairing on 0.11 till late in the piece, so I thought
I'd send in a summary of what I try to achieve early on.
During this first week of bzr.dev being open I try to set the launchpad
milestone up correctly. This involves:
- retargeting unfinished bugs from 0.11
- adding a new spec for the 0.12 release process pointing at
http://bazaar-vcs.org/ReleaseRoadmap. This will require some URL
fiddling because launchpad does not like the same url being in two
specs. (ie. /foo/../ at the end, or add &ignored)
- for each spec SPEC that is currently targeted in 0.11 and not
delivered:
- go to the 0.12 release spec and add a depends on SPEC
- go to SPEC and change its targeted milestone
Send an email when this is done that is the same as the following weekly
emails.
Then I try to encourage folk to get this stuff done - which is largely a
matter of presenting the status of the release in a clear manner. I was
doing this weekly because I think daily would become an ignored item -
like the web page is - its there all the time but how often do we look
at it ?
Cheers,
Rob
