I rarely have a non-up-to-date tree, so I can't give a real user
experience, but after a few experiments, I fond it quite difficult to
get the difference between the revision in the working tree and in the
branch.

For example, I found no way to tell "log" to show only ancestors of
the working tree. It could be

$ bzr log -r ..current:
