Simply put:
[ALIASES]
diff = diff --diff-prefix=a/:b/
And you can have exactly the same -p1 diffs.
I think you gave very good reasons why we should support having -p1
diffs. But I think most of us have come to the conclusion that for all
of us not working on the kernel, it is harder to use.
I would expect that we would continue to support --diff-prefix, simply
because LKML expects -p1 diffs.
