Well, I was thinking about reviving my encoding branch. I think if I
back off the last few commits, I can get back to something that should
apply to the 0.8 codebase.
The problem was that I started to try and tackle unicode filenames, and
ran into the normalization errors, etc. So if I just ignore those
problems for now (it only happen on Mac, both win32 and linux seem to
preserve whatever you give it), and don't worry about path
normalization, I think I can get the Command.outf stuff working.
