bzrk no work with the 0.8 api

For the benefit of the tape: Jelmer and John both have a single commit past
Scott's branch -- a 0.8pre api fix.

David's branch at http://ddaa.net/bazaar/bzrk has a lot more fixes, but does
not run against the current API (fails trying to import 'xml', an easy fix,
but also adds some code to use a no-longer existing function
Branch.controlfile in another commit).

So, I've branched from David's branch at r34, just before the tricky stuff,
and merged in Jelmer's patch:
