Problems with push and branch

And lo, Joseph Wakeling spake thus: whoops, yes, sftp:// is right. And
it turned out I needed to install paramiko.
However, the problem still persists. This time I get the secure login
protocol coming up, but after entering my password I get the same error
message,
bzr: ERROR: Parent directory of
sftp://myname@remote.computer.com/home/myname/location/ does not exist.
I'll check with the sysadmin that sftp is an allowed protocol. Are
there any other factors that could cause this problem?

Deployment is fine. Occasionally I make minor edits direct on the
remote machine via vi or similar, and it would be nice to be able to
make full use of bzr's possibilities to handle these. But it's not
urgent. The suggestions you make sound right on the money for what I need.
Thanks very much for the advice. :-)
Best wishes,
