cairo: an opportunity for advocacy?

In case someone missed my msg on IRC, cairo is making vague noises about moving
away from CVS.  bzr's name was mentioned once, but noone spoke in favour of it
(nor against it - but only alternatives got any air time).  The following
message from Carl Worth explains why he is likely to go for git:
