Limited writes is an inherent limitation of the flash technology. But it
appears that it has progressed much both in write counts (one million
writes instead of 10 thousands in the early days) and in wear levelling.

Still, flash disks are not appropriate if you require frequent
overwrites over a long period of time and high reliability.
