PATCH: let clone use set_revision_history instead of append_revision

Well, at this point, there is no history, so they do the same thing.
(append_revision ends up calling set_revision_history as a last step)

But I'll agree with you that set_revision_history is probably the more
correct thing.

I've pulled it into my integration branch.
