The test also fails on my Fedore Core3 installation.
My OS is running on a virtual machine (Xen) - but I don't think that
is the reason?

I'm attaching the output from

    % bzr selftest test_export

Apperently there is only this one failure - the tail of "% bzr selftest" is

    Ran 219 tests in 9.588s
    FAILED (failures=1)
    Failed tests working directories are in '/home/webadmin/test0004.tmp'
