I don't really mind. It does make it sound more formal, which is
really just a matter of taste.  It reads a bit like a english
schoolboy novel.

Depending on timezone it was on the 5th or 4th of October.

I guess it depends on whether you see the thing as a summary of the
list for that period, or as a summary of the project (based mainly on
the list).  I think the second is more useful, and so you should feel
free to include things that weren't strictly on the list in that
period.

For the same reason I think you can diverge from list thread subjects,
which are not always accurate.
