restore a file

If I accidently delete a file from a sandbox - how do I get it back?
Or alternatively - if it exists - how to revert to the latest commited 
version of it?

One way is to "checkout" a new project branch and copy the file from that 
branch
to the current sandbox - but there must be an easier way, I guess?
