test.sh fails due to PATH issues

That doesn't handle the case where the test fails.

Anyhow, I started adding ./testbzr in pure Python and converting tests
from test.sh into there.  The new one just deletes and replaces the
directory.  It also uses the PATH but should probably autodetect it.
