Ugh, Martin specifically asked for us to refer to the different
output methods such that:

2
1

is 'reversed' and:

1
2
3

is 'forward.'

My patch implements 'reversed' logging without breaking 'forward'
logging. So, this patch implements the logging that you're used
to.
