Knits - ready for use

The long pending knit format has now been made the default format for
bzr. Any future changes to the knit format will done with backwards
compatibility.

This has some important consequences:
 * Existing test knit branches need to be recreated.
 * Any remaining bugs in knits are likely to show up very rapidly -
Martin and I will address them as quickly as possibly.

checkouts of branches over SFTP will now work acceptably as long as the
branch has been upgraded first.

Please do try out knits and report on their success. If you need to
create a non-knit branch, you can do this via 'bzr init
--format=metadir'.
