Yes, the dejagnu setup we have compares the emitted stdout and stderr
from the test program with saved output. In this case stderr should
be empty; hence the empty .err files.

(This *may* be an artifact of our dejagnu setup/usage. I didn't create
it and am unfamiliar enough with it to know if there's a way to not
need the empty .err files.)
