OK, I'll wait. This will also give Steve the chance to review the patch.

I'd also like to nominate this patch for the (to-be-created) 2.8 branch.


BTW: When will you release 2.8? I'm asking because openSUSE is heading 
towards 12.2 beta, and I'd like to have 2.8 in it. (In theory 12.2 beta 
should already have been released, but it's delayed because the build 
service had various problems in the last days.)
