I'm not quite sure what went wrong in your case. It merely build-depends
on libmagickwand-dev, which is satisfiable in precise and the resulting
.deb package has this dependency in my case:
libmagickwand4 (>= 8:6.6.9.7)

Who else feels strongly about this? I'm not sure how much of an issue
