Also, bear in mind that some programs produce a lot of command line output that is not essential - perhaps this spec should include details about only displaying a warning if the program quits with an error code.  Poerhaps an ability to read the programs' exit code and display information - this could be build in to the 'Program has quit unexpectedly' dialogue.
