Not really. It adds complexity to the system, and you cannot move partitions and install another OS on it anyway.<BR>
As far as desktop systems are concerned, IMHO making everything a single / partition is an acceptable solution.<BR>
The only other partition that might make sense on a desktop system is /home, so that one can upgrade without <BR>
bothering with backups.
