Ah, that breaks my normal development way of working where I do:

git clone git://kernel.ubuntu.com/hwe/fwts
autoreconf -ivf
./configure
make

Is there a way of defaulting these environment vars so we don't need to
explicitly set these when doing a non-debian build?
